Christopher Luna's Current Biography article about Bill Griffith appears on the cartoonist's offficial website

I am using Bill Griffith's superb graphic novel memoir, Invisible Ink: My Mother's Secret Love Affair with a Famous Cartoonist, in my Summer memoir writing class at Clark College. I have been collecting Zippy the Pinhead comics for two decades, and love its surreal social commentary. I sent the students the link to Griffith's bio from his official website so that they could learn more about his background and career. I later realized that Mr. Griffith had posted the profile I wrote about him for Current Biography in 2001 as his official bio.
Thank you so much, Bill Griffith! I'm proud to know that you were happy with the piece I wrote, and honored for my writing to appear on your website.

Christopher Luna receives a tip of the pin from Bill Griffith, creator of Zippy the Pinhead

Reading through my Zippy annuals, I just realized that Bill Griffith had used a photograph I sent him when I was living in Kelso, WA as the basis for a Zippy the Pinhead strip in 2003. The first panel depicts a movie theatre and diner in Kelso and, as regular readers of the strip know, Zippy and Griffy love diners.
Bill Griffith's strip is consistently funny, perplexing, subversive, and thought-provoking. It is amazing that something this surreal and intellectually challenging appears in newspapers across the country. I love it.
Strip posted with Bill Griffith's permission.
